Position Responsibilities:

•Prepare code-compliant solar electric system design drawings in AutoCAD, prepare bills of materials with cost estimates
•Collaborate with architects, engineers, and customers to develop system designs, write design specifications
•Visit customer sites to plan installations
•Negotiate with contractors and obtain construction proposals, monitor and inspect contractor work progress at customer sites
•Possible installation team building and managing
•Prepare sales proposal drawings as needed
•Perform occasional maintenance and repair of existing systems, participate in installation of energy monitoring hardware

The ideal candidate will have:

•An engineering degree or electrical design experience
•General familiarity with renewable energy and strong solar design skills
•1-5 years of experience preparing solar design and permit documents
•Proficiency with AutoCAD
•Ability to work independently and self-motivate
•Willingness to travel 5-10% and visit local job sites 10-20%
•Previous hands-on experience with electrical wiring is a plus
•CA C-10, C-46 Contractor Licenses or NABCEP certification a big plus
•Some training possible

Salary:

Expected first year earnings are $50-60,000, but DOE.  We offer a flexible work schedule and environment for qualified candidates.
